I was excited to go for a walk today until I realized we were going somewhere new. It was quiet, but I have become comfortable with the walking path we always take. I don't like change. I've had enough of change recently. We were gone a long time and eventually I couldn't help myself but to get curious about some of the sights and smells. I ended up enjoying the walk but was glad when we finally got home. I was really thirsty and late for my midmorning nap.

Jenn's take on the day: We live next to Showa Kinen Park. There is a fee to get in which is why we haven't been there before. I wanted to make sure we did it on a day I could take the time to really explore and see if it is worth the yen. I ended up getting lost within the park and spent more time there than I intended. Be carefully what you wish for I guess. Ah well.... The final conclusion is I am going to buy an annual pass so we can go whenever I want (in other words, A LOT). They have paved trails, hiking trails, flower gardens, a Japanese garden, koi ponds, multiple water features, 'train' rides, and more. I foresee spending a lot of time there with the camera.

It seems some of my message did not make it. The reference to YAB is when Thomas was stationed there. I also commented on how much Japan has changed in the ensuing years. E
This is great! Dec 1955 - fall 1957 at Yokota Air Base. You seem to be very appreciative of this opportunity and intend to take advantage of everything available. Yea!! Love, Elizabeth (Louisa's first cousin on her mother's side. I took pictures at your wedding.)
