Yesterday was exhausting and stressful! I didn't get my morning nap...I don't like it when the routine isn't followed. We went to a vet clinic. It was a place I had not been to before...new places make me nervous. They made me stand and lay on tables...I am not a fan of heights. They poked me with needles.... I am actually OK with needles; after all, treats show up when the needles are done. There were lots of other dogs around...I don't trust other dogs. It was such a long morning, we were there for hours! Today seems more normal. The male pack leader and I are hanging out at the house so I am starting to relax again.

Jenn's take: We took Dash to the vet yesterday because he has a skin mass. I am concerned it is a bad tumor and want it to be removed. Going to a Japanese vet was an interesting experience. Some things were done differently than I would have done, but the doctor was very through and conscientious. I trust he will take good care of Dash. The surgery is scheduled in 3 days. David decided to stay home with him today. I met up with a friend and we went to a Kimono Fabric Festival (Some no Komichi). The festival was to highlight the traditions surrounding dying fabric for kimonos and hanging them to dry.

Unfortunately, the festival was disappointing. It was neat to see the all of the fabrics hanging, but there wasn't much else to do. There were a few craft booths and food vendors, but it didn't take long to explore the area. On to plan B... we decided to go to an antique market. I had been to this market previously and it was fun to introduce my friend to the fun of hunting for unique asian items. I picked up this great sample roll of kimono fabrics. I may combine some of the patterns to make pillows or possibly frame individual squares to make wall art.

My friend found a beautiful kokeshi doll. As an added bonus, there was a regional food festival occurring next to the market. I am not sure what region was represented but the potato croquettes were yummy! The day hadn't gone according to plan but we still had lots of fun exploring Tokyo.
